Amazon’s ‘Clinic’ Would Connect Patients to Telemedicine

amazon

Amazon’s newest healthcare offering is on the horizon, and a brand new leaked video that was published the company’s YouTube page on Tuesday, and immediately taken down, outlined what ‘Amazon Clinic’ would be like.

The online care program would offer treatment for “common conditions” like allergies and acne (via The Verge).

Per the video, people could fill out a questionnaire about their symptoms and pay a fee, and a clinician would then formally review their answers and provide a diagnosis and prescriptions as needed. Then, according to the video, prescriptions would be sent to “your pharmacy”. It is not clear if it will force users to utilize the struggling Amazon Pharmacy.

Text on the video stated: “Telehealth services are offered by third-party healthcare provider groups,” and directs people to amazon.com/clinic, but that webpage is not currently live.

It will be interesting to see the kind of marketing, or Medical SEO that Amazon employs when Clinic officially comes to life.
